The S144 model is among the largest wind turbines used in India and can be extended up to 3. 15 MW depending on specific site requirements. “Turbines will be S144 Suzlon wind turbine generators and will be compliant with the government’s newly enhanced Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM) guidelines on domestic content. Turbines will be made in Andhra Pradesh in Suzlon’s factory there, which has now been revamped and has re-commenced production since 2024,” according to industry reports.
This means that key parts like blades, gearboxes, generators. towers will be produced at Suzlon’s manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. This factory restarted its production in 2024 after being improved. This focus on local sourcing and manufacturing supports the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and boosts domestic industry.

Once operational, the 700 MW wind power project in Anantapur is expected to generate a large amount of clean electricity. The estimated annual power generation is about 1,840 million units.
